KLEPSYDRA
August 23, 2024, 5:30 PM – Poschiavo
In collaboration with Giardini Incantati 2024 - presented by Riverbero | Val Poschiavo Turismo
Klepsydra explores the concept of time in music — variations of speed and rhythm, a cycle of accents that returns endlessly. Time is also Kairos, the opportune moment to act, where each instant holds unique qualities that are never the same. Furthermore, time can be Synchronicity, the idea that every moment is not just a consequence of the previous one but part of a more intricate web where the deeper meaning of things reveals itself through coincidences, not merely through causal explanations.
All these visions of time converge in the figure of the Greek goddess Ananke, representing necessity and inevitability. Her brother is Chronos, linear time, and together they are entwined like two serpents at the origin of the Universe. She is also the mother of the three Moirai (Fates).
This project involves five choreographers. Each of them has choreographed a section of the final production, while simultaneously performing in every part of the complete choreography. Each segment is linked to one of these interpretations of time (tempo, rhythm, kairos, synchronicity, Ananke), with the choreographers creating their pieces within this conceptual framework.
